2012 OLD 27 PROJECT
Starting approximately June 11, 2012 the Roscommon County Road Commission will begin work on Old 27 from Ausable Road to to the Crawford County line. The project will consist of 3.77 miles of trenching, HMA shoulders, cold milling, ultra-thin overlay, gravel shoulders, sign replacements and pavement markings.

Building Inspector - Dave Doll
The building inspector is in the Township on Monday and Wednesday only. He works from 9:00am until 12:00pm and can be reached by calling the Township at (989) 821-9694, Ext. 206. Building Packets may be picked up at the Township Hall. Electrical, Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing Inspectors can be reached through the township at 989-821-9694 x200
Weekly Trash Pickup
Trash is picked up on Monday. Trash must be outside a the curb side by 7::00a.m. If your trash is not out by 7:00a.m., Lyon Township can'nt gaurentee that it will be picked up. Along with the blue or green container you have, each dwelling is allowed one large house hold item per week. If you have a large item to get rid of we ask that you call Republic Waste at (800) 578-2664 so they are able to accomodate the item. If you have a refrigerator to get rid of, you will need to do the same. Any questions, please call the Township at 989-821-9694.
Leaf Pickup

Leaf pickup will start May 1, 2012 and end July 15, 2012 We will pick leaves up every other Tuesday. They must be in a brown biodegradable bags and not over 50lbs.

GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS
- Food & Beverage containes only
- All colors, please rinse out, remove lids, labels are ok
- No Pyrex, window glass, ceramics, light bulbs, mirrors or broken glass
METAL FOOD & BEVERAGE CANS
- Metal food & beverage cans: also lids from glass bottles & jars
- Rinse clean, labels are okay
- Flatten if possible
PLASTICS
- Plastic bottles such as milk jugs, water bottles, Gatorade etc. Anything with #1 or #2 placed within the recycled arrows. (Triangle)
- Rinse well, remove caps, labels are okay.
- NO MOTOR OIL CONTAINERS
NEWS PAPERS - MAGAZINES
- Place flat in the bottom of your recycling bin or place in a brown paper grocery bag
- Newspapers can include color comic sections and glossy inserts
HOUSEHOLD HAZERDOUS WASTE COLLECTION
♦ Saturday June 2, 2012 the Roscommon County Solid Waste Recycling Committee
will be holding the Spring household hazerdous waste collection. They will
accept items from 9:00am-1:00pm at the Roscommon County Health
Department Parking Lot. For a list of items they collect, you may contact your
local township office.
